Wiko has us since its launch earlier this year pleasantly surprised with some interesting devices, but unfortunately, the Wax 4G does not belong in that line. On paper, the wax 4G has everything that you could want: 4.7 inch HD screen, 4G, 8 megapixel camera and a sturdy Nvidia Tegra 4i quad core chip. In theory super, but in practice, unfortunately, less good.
This is the first device with a Tegra 4i we test, and we are very much impressed with the graphics power of this budget device. By far the best of what you can expect in this price range, but unfortunately we cannot say the same from the processor. Although he refused to launch Antutu and Geekbench, the processor feels very slow. Multitasking is slow, and, for example, opening a webpage in your browser may take half a minute. It seems like Wiko has not mastered the chip, because it will surprise us if the Nvidia Tegra 4i provides such performance.
You'll also have to count the heavy HD screen, which is also not a gift for a budget chip. This screen is also very poor in quality. The viewing angles are not quite good and especially the brightness does not climb high enough for a sunny day. We rather enjoy a lower resolution, such as by the HTC Desire 610, but with a decent screen quality. The 8 megapixel camera is performing properly, and also the autonomy scores on average in this price range. With this mobile, Wiko has to go back to the drawing board.
